Core Principles
This amazing photo is a murmuration (a flock of starlings, thousands of them!) All organized and having amazing fun
NOW
They don't have a long to-do list taped under one wing! They operate off three simple principles:
1. fly towards the centre of the flock;
2. fly as close to the other birds as possible;
3. don't run into another bird.
...From simplicity arises the complex and beautiful. What are your core principles that most influence your behaviour?
THE CORE OF FITNESS IS MAKE YOUR MUSCLES MOVE. (squat, lunge, push, pull, twist)
Go for just a few minutes, but go as powerfully as you feel comfortable

Science Update (Neuro)
Making Muscles Move is the critical step.
1. Here's some science just published that highlights that
Neuroscience. 2012 Apr 16. [Epub ahead of print] Swimming exercise increases the level of nerve growth factor and stimulates neurogenesis in adult rat hippocampus. Chae CH, Lee HC, Jung SL, Kim TW, Kim JH, Kim NJ, Kim HT.
The study observes superior nervous system and neuro-responses with the swimming group that uses more muscles in their exercise.
Want to get smarter - just move more muscles!

Science Update

Go Heavy? Go Light?
Low 'reps', High 'reps'....
1. Get BENEFIT INTENSITY!
Study just published: J Appl Physiol. 2012 Apr 19
by Mitchell et al out of McMaster University
Highlights: the only factor is whether you achieve 'successful muscle failure'
In reality:
a.) It's about getting that muscle failure
b.) without damage or destruction
c.) and setting up a cycle to recovery

Think-Tank

Dedicate 10 minutes today... just to THINKING
1. Yeah: no doing's, no processing - just pure thinking
a.) find somewhere, and sometime & dedicate!
2. What question are you going to answer to yourself?
a.) go deep!
3. Dream a little...
a.) hey You must attempt the ridiculous to accomplish the miraculous.
4. Really explore your thoughts, ideas..(If you're building castles in the sky - great! that's where they should be.
Now put the foundations under them!
5. What's your success plan?
a.) what really is your target
b.) what do you need
c.) what are you prepared to invest/spend (time, energy, money..)

getting FIT

Functional Intelligent Training!
1. Understand: Two ground-breaking studies
“Human and Experimental Toxicology 21:91-91” in 2002.
The conclusion is “There is a threshold of intensity that must be broached to gain benefit. That benefit is not increased with increased effort”
J.Physiol. 2008;586;1-2, titled, “Specificity of Training Adaptation: Time for a Rethink” which concluded:
“The Long-held view that the training response/adaptation is directly linked to the volume of exercise undertaken is wrong. There is obviously a threshold volume/duration beyond which additional stimuli do not induce further response and work capacity – ‘Biological Ceiling’
2. Realize
FACTS of what you are:-
a.) Trillions of cells: that are just bundles of protons & electrons (ie. just a series of electrical & chemical reactions)
b.) bound together inside muscles that communicate via your nervous system (your nerves ‘speak to each other at 200+mph)
c.) with a skeletal structure that is all based on rotation (think ball & socket joints at your shoulders & hips - and your spinal column is made only to twist!)
because
There’s too much fun in life to waste any training time – and life is way too important not to enjoy amazing results from your training
Evolution requires us to continually refresh our competitive advantage.
To innovate forever is not an aspiration – It’s a design specification!
It’s not a strategy – It’s a requirement!
ie. It’s all about Progression.
Be aware...

1. A human being at rest runs on 90 watts.
2. Someone that's active does about 250w
3. The average american consumes 11,000w - daily!
a.) More than the energy needed to power a Blue-Whale (the largest creature on the planet)
Imagine 300 million Blue-Whales in America!
Imagine nearly 7 billion across the planet!
focus on efficiency!
start with your training!
Rules...

Hey! don't get hung-up with rules. They're merely someones 'opinion' translated into a format to help organize.
GET FOCUSED ON PRINCIPLES
If you want to accomplish things...
improve on things...
progress beyond...
'you have to break the rules' - as you have to extend further than the status-quo of existing 'organized-structure' (box people live in)
1. The only way to successfully do this: is from a foundation of principles
a.) and mastery of the arts within the 'principles'
2. Principles are simple
3. The challenge is dedicating & committing to the mastery
a.) & then exploring the innovation that offers its path.
Basically the inspiration & motivation to create the next-echelon. (whatever you decide it to be!)
